EPP – London, Social Networking

Venue’s based in London known for hosting large social networking events, like the institute of contemporary arts and the business design centre have previously hosted some large creative new media conferences. Creativelondon.org.uk has a large directory of projects (http://www.creativelondon.org.uk/server.php?show=nav.009008) which seem to be based around the idea of showing work and networking. I believe if any city of the UK has potential in making useful connections via a project show or an event, London would be the place to be. The drawbacks I believe to be the notion of social networking being dependent on participation, in other words if no one turns up then no one is interested. My idea of a social network model would be to remove the reason for it to be held as an event only means of transferring information. For example MSN, is a huge social network and is dependent on being active 24/7.
